Performance Etiquette
- Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled performance time to check-in to your site door monitor and to warm-up your voice.
- Don't forget to bring your original copy of your book for your solo or sheet music (no photo copies) with all measures numbered for your clinician's copy. Give the door monitor your clinician copy right before you perform (book opened to your song for soloists) and don't forget to take your music back from the clinician after your performance.
- Wear nice clothes....NO jeans or sweatshirts...something nice like dress pants, dress, skirt and a nice shirt, button down shirt with a tie or a nice polo shirt and shoes that offer good balance and support. PLEASE NO HIGH HEELS for the ladies (chunky heals are ok, but no spike or narrow high heels...flats are preferred).
- Always silently listen to your clinician's comments and answer questions kindly and ALWAYS say THANK YOU when you are done.
- Please don't forget to thank your accompanist...a nice card or something is always appreciated as a special thank you.
- Mrs. Pehowski will have all critique sheets for you in class Monday.
- Students selected for the Honor's Recital based on exemplary performances will be posted on this website by the following Monday evening.
- You may leave as soon as you are done singing if you wish.
- If you stay and watch other performances NO TALKING in the room during the performance or during the clinician's comments. Stay quiet in the room between performances. If you wish to talk, please quietly leave the room and save your comments for the hallway away from the performance sites.
- The waiting area needs to stay somewhat quiet so the sound doesn't travel into the classrooms to disrupt performers or judges.
- Concessions will be served for you to enjoy throughout the day at a minimal fee. All proceeds from concessions goes back to the music department.
- ALL PARENTS AND FAMILY MEMBERS ARE WELCOME and ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND AND WATCH AS MANY PERFORMANCES AS YOU WISH.
GOOD LUCK!!!
